Random Thoughts

This is my first blog and my first set of random thoughts on photography. As time goes on and I get the hang of this blog thing, I will try to be less "random" and more focused on my thoughts of the day.

Photography for me is more than something to do; it is an obsession, a passion and as important to me as breathing. Through photography, I have learned to see, to feel and to treasure all those things I walked past day after day and never took the time to really notice.
Things like a common sparrow fledgling trying to blend into the bushes

and his persistent calling for his mom to feed him

or the sunshine radiating off the seed head of a blade of grass

or the way your best friend and companion looks at you with love and trust

(Perhaps this look is the ...would you please put that camera away)

All these things that if you let it may bring you a feeling of inner peace, a smile to your face, a tear to your eye or a miriad of other emotions and, it will make you see the world around you in ways you never really had before. For me, photography also taught me patience and a greater urgency to protect the world and environment that provides so much beauty. It quite literally taught me to stop and smell the roses.
